New Yorkers for Primary Reform - Open Primaries
Blog Background

New Yorkers for Primary Reform

3.2 million New Yorkers were locked out of the presidential primaries this year.   This garnered local and national media attention - but changing the rules is never easy, especially in New York where party dominated “politics as usual” is so entrenched.

Please join us at a meeting to discuss actions and activities designed to move the open primaries agenda forward in New York and nationally.

  • Discuss national efforts to petition the Rules Committees of both parties at the presidential conventions to adopt open presidential primaries for 2020.

  • Look ahead at the prospects for nonpartisan primary reform in New York City and New York State.
