Spread the word about Proposition 14 in California - the June 8th Open Primaries Referendum!
Message to be sent:
Dear Friend,
I'm writing to you to encourage you to vote YES on PROPOSITION 14, the California open primaries initiative. It’s on the ballot on Tuesday, June 8th.
If Proposition 14 passes, California will no longer have a system of partisan, “members only” primaries. A new system, where by all the candidates face off in a first round primary, and all the voters-including California’s 3.4 million independent voters-vote for whomever they choose, would go into affect in 2011.
Prop 14 would get the parties and special interests out of running our state elections and empower the voters to choose the best candidates, regardless of party.
Most importantly, it would give California's 3.4 million independent voters an equal voice in the political process.
Please take a moment to watch the video about how Prop 14 would make a difference. http://www.independentvoice.org/participate.html
The reason I’m reaching you by e-mail is because most Californians don’t know that Proposition is on the ballot. It would really help if you would not only vote for it, but encourage your friends and family to do the same. Most politicians are against it, and we need a real word of mouth effort to get it passed. Thanks.
