I just signed a petition urging President Obama to support federal legislation to allow for Open Primaries in all 50 states and I want to urge you to do the same.

Across the country, partisan insiders - Republican and Democratic alike - are introducing legislation to make it more difficult for people, particularly independents, to vote in primaries.
I support less partisan control, not more. I think that primaries should be open to all the voters, not just party loyalists (a dying breed!)
This is an important issue. During campaign 2008, the American people spoke loudly and clearly about wanting leaders who can move beyond narrow partisan interests. Our electoral process needs to reflect that or we will continue to get the same results.
