About the Conference Call:
John Opdycke, the President of Open Primaries, will interview Congressman Ro Khanna (California, 17th district). Ro is an innovative progressive, a staunch advocate for voter empowerment, and the co-author with Governor Schwarzenegger of the recent Washington Post Editorial “Don’t listen to the establishment critics. California’s open primary works.”
Rep. Khanna cares about process. He is one of only 10 members of Congress who refuses to accept funding from PACS. He’s a strong advocate for the California system of open primaries and nonpartisan redistricting, and believes strongly that candidates and politicians should embrace competition and fairness in the electoral arena. He is thoughtful, principled, and philosophical. As he and Governor Schwarzenegger said in their recent piece, "for those of us who embrace top-two, it’s not about moving legislators in any one political direction. It’s about moving them closer to the voters.”
John will be interviewing Ro for approximately 30 minutes and then opening it up for questions from participants. Space is limited, so please register today.
